Senior Associate - Data Protection and Cyber Security

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate specialising in Data Protection and Cyber Security to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide expert advice to clients on a broad range of data protection, privacy, and cyber security matters. You will be responsible for advising on compliance with relevant data protection laws such as the GDPR and Data Protection Act, as well as assisting with the implementation of data security frameworks and policies. The position involves supporting clients through data breaches and cyber incidents, conducting data protection impact assessments, and drafting and negotiating data processing agreements. You will also deliver training and workshops to clients and internal teams on data protection obligations and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience advising on data protection and privacy matters, preferably gained in a legal, consultancy, or in-house environment. You should possess strong technical knowledge of UK and EU data protection legislation, as well as a sound understanding of cyber security risks and mitigation strategies. Excellent drafting, communication, and client management skills are essential. Professional qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar are desirable but not required. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects for a diverse client base.
