Graduate Consultant, Cyber Incident Response: One Year Fixed Term Contract
Graduate Consultant, Cyber Incident Response: One Year Fixed Term Contract. An exciting opportunity is available for a recent graduate or early-career professional to begin a career in cyber incident response. Working as part of a specialist security team, you will support the investigation, management and resolution of cyber incidents affecting a range of systems, networks and users. This is a practical, learning-focused role suited to someone with a genuine interest in cybersecurity, strong analytical ability and a willingness to develop technical expertise.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the triage and investigation of suspected security incidents, reviewing alerts and log data, gathering and preserving digital evidence, and documenting findings clearly and accurately. You will help prepare incident reports, timelines and technical summaries, contribute to containment and remediation activities, and support post-incident reviews to identify lessons and improvements. You may also assist with threat intelligence research, vulnerability assessments, security monitoring and the development of incident response playbooks and procedures. The role will involve working collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues, communicating progress clearly and maintaining accurate records throughout each investigation.
Applicants should have a degree, or equivalent practical experience, in cybersecurity, computer science, digital forensics, information technology or a related discipline. A basic understanding of networking, operating systems, information security principles and common cyber threats is required. Familiarity with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, scripting, cloud environments or digital forensic techniques would be beneficial, but full training and support will be provided. You should demonstrate curiosity, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to remain organised when managing competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality and continuous learning. This is a one-year fixed-term contract offering valuable hands-on experience and development within a professional cyber incident response environment.
