Cyber Response & Recovery Manager (Reactive DFIR) - German Speaking
We are seeking a Cyber Response & Recovery Manager specialising in reactive digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) to lead the investigation and containment of complex cyber incidents. This role will manage response activities from initial triage through eradication, recovery and post-incident review, helping organisations restore secure operations while preserving critical evidence. The successful candidate will be fluent in German and English and confident working with stakeholders across technical, operational and executive levels in high-pressure situations.
You will coordinate incident response engagements, establish priorities, allocate technical resources and maintain clear communication throughout each phase of an investigation. Responsibilities will include directing host, network, cloud and identity investigations; reviewing forensic artefacts, logs and threat intelligence; developing and testing containment and recovery plans; and ensuring evidence is collected, documented and handled in accordance with accepted forensic practices. You will produce accurate incident reports, executive briefings and lessons-learned reviews, while identifying improvements to detection, resilience and response procedures. The role may also involve supporting crisis management, advising on regulatory or contractual reporting requirements, and participating in an out-of-hours or on-call response rota.
Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber incident response, digital forensics, threat hunting or a closely related discipline, with a proven record of managing investigations involving ransomware, business email compromise, insider threats, data loss or other sophisticated attacks. Strong knowledge of endpoint, network, cloud and identity technologies is expected, along with practical experience using forensic, SIEM, EDR and case-management tools. Professional certifications such as GCFA, GCIH, GNFA, EnCE, CISSP or equivalent are desirable. You will be an organised and decisive leader who can explain complex technical findings clearly, remain calm under pressure and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external specialists and senior decision-makers. Fluent German and strong written and spoken English are essential.
