AI Security Specialist
We are seeking an AI Security Specialist to help protect artificial intelligence systems, data, applications, and supporting infrastructure throughout their development and operational lifecycles. You will assess risks associated with machine learning models, generative AI tools, large language models, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud environments, while helping teams adopt secure and responsible AI practices. This role will work closely with security, engineering, data science, privacy, legal, and risk stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and implement practical controls.
Key responsibilities include conducting threat modelling, security reviews, and risk assessments for AI products and use cases; identifying threats such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model extraction, insecure model supply chains, sensitive data leakage, adversarial attacks, and unauthorised access; and developing security requirements, architecture patterns, and testing strategies. You will support red-team exercises, penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response, and continuous monitoring of AI systems. You will also contribute to policies, standards, and guidance covering identity and access management, encryption, logging, data governance, model lifecycle management, third-party services, and regulatory expectations. Clear documentation and communication of technical risks to both specialist and non-specialist audiences will be an important part of the role.
Applicants should have professional experience in cybersecurity, application security, cloud security, data security, or a related discipline, together with a strong understanding of machine learning and generative AI concepts. Experience securing APIs, software supply chains, cloud platforms, containerised environments, and data pipelines is highly desirable. You should be familiar with common security frameworks, threat modelling methodologies, secure development practices, and relevant AI security research. Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams. Relevant certifications in cybersecurity, cloud security, privacy, or AI governance are advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to building secure, ethical, and resilient AI capabilities.
