Security Project Manager UK
We are seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of security-related projects across the UK. This role will manage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and compliance standards. Projects may include physical security, electronic security systems, access control, CCTV, alarm systems, security technology upgrades, site protection measures and associated infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include defining project scope, objectives, milestones, budgets and resource requirements; producing and maintaining detailed project plans; coordinating internal teams, contractors, consultants and suppliers; and managing procurement, installation, testing and handover activities. You will identify and mitigate risks, manage issues and change control, monitor progress against agreed schedules, and provide clear updates to stakeholders and senior management. The role will also involve ensuring that projects comply with relevant UK legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements, data protection principles and internal security policies. You will maintain accurate documentation, oversee project governance and support post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing security, facilities, construction, technology or infrastructure projects, ideally within a complex, multi-site environment. You should be confident managing budgets, suppliers and competing priorities, with a structured approach to planning, reporting and problem-solving. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to influence colleagues and external partners at all levels. Experience with security systems, risk assessments, security standards, contract management and project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile would be advantageous. A relevant professional qualification or equivalent practical experience is desirable. This position may involve travel to sites across the UK and occasional out-of-hours activity during critical installations or testing.
