Senior Manager, Cyber Architect, Cyber Security, Financial Services
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Cyber Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, resilient technology solutions across a complex financial services environment. This is a strategic role for an experienced cyber security professional who can translate business objectives and regulatory expectations into practical security architecture, while influencing senior stakeholders and guiding architectural decisions across the organisation. You will help shape the cyber security roadmap, strengthen technology resilience and ensure that security is embedded throughout the design, delivery and operation of products and services.
Key responsibilities will include defining and maintaining cyber security architecture principles, patterns, standards and reference models; leading architecture reviews for major programmes, platforms and transformation initiatives; and assessing security risks associated with applications, infrastructure, cloud services, data, networks and emerging technologies. You will work closely with enterprise architects, technology teams, risk specialists, engineering functions and business leaders to identify appropriate controls and develop proportionate remediation plans. The role will also involve supporting threat modelling, security-by-design practices, identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, incident readiness and third-party risk assessments. You will provide assurance that solutions meet internal policies and relevant legal, regulatory and industry requirements.
Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber security architecture, solution architecture or a closely related discipline, ideally within banking, insurance, investment or another highly regulated sector. You will bring strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SABSA or equivalent, together with practical experience across cloud and on-premises environments. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP or a recognised architecture qualification, are desirable. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex technical risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience leading teams, mentoring architects and managing delivery through ambiguity will be highly valued.
