Cyber Security Technical Specialist
We are seeking a Cyber Security Technical Specialist to help protect critical systems, applications, networks and data from evolving cyber threats. The successful candidate will work across security operations, infrastructure and technology teams to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen controls and support the delivery of secure, resilient services. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can combine strong technical expertise with clear communication and sound risk-based judgement.
Key responsibilities will include monitoring and investigating security alerts, supporting incident response activities, and conducting vulnerability assessments across infrastructure, cloud environments, endpoints and applications. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of security tools, policies, standards and technical controls, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, network security, encryption, logging and configuration management. The role will also involve reviewing system designs, advising on secure solutions, assisting with penetration testing and remediation, and producing clear technical reports for both technical and non-technical audiences. You may also support security risk assessments, audit preparation, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Applicants should have proven experience in a cyber security, information security or closely related technical role, with a strong understanding of security principles, threat intelligence, vulnerability management and incident handling. Practical experience with security monitoring platforms, SIEM technologies, firewalls, endpoint detection tools, cloud security services and scripting or automation would be advantageous. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience are desirable. You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative approach, a commitment to professional development and the ability to explain complex security issues clearly are essential.
