Blockchain & Smart Contract Security, Vice President
We are seeking an experienced Blockchain & Smart Contract Security Vice President to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive security strategy across digital-asset, blockchain, and decentralised application initiatives. This senior leadership role will oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks affecting smart contracts, protocols, wallets, custody solutions, and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to executive leadership, engineering teams, product stakeholders, and risk functions, ensuring security is embedded throughout the full product and development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include establishing governance frameworks, security standards, and control requirements for blockchain-based products; leading smart contract audits, code reviews, threat modelling, penetration testing, and formal verification activities; and overseeing external security partners and independent assessments. You will develop processes for vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, and post-incident remediation, while maintaining clear escalation procedures for critical threats. The role will also contribute to protocol and architecture reviews, assess third-party and open-source dependencies, support regulatory and audit requirements, and provide clear reporting on security posture, emerging risks, and remediation priorities. Building strong relationships across technology, legal, compliance, operations, and product teams will be essential.
Applicants should bring significant experience in blockchain security, application security, smart contract auditing, or a closely related discipline, together with a track record of leading security programmes in complex or highly regulated environments. Strong knowledge of Ethereum or comparable blockchain ecosystems, Solidity or other smart contract languages, consensus mechanisms, cryptography, decentralised finance, and common attack vectors is expected. Experience managing senior technical teams, influencing executive decisions, and communicating complex security matters to both technical and non-technical audiences is important. Relevant professional certifications or advanced academic qualifications are desirable, as are contributions to security research, vulnerability disclosure programmes, incident investigations, or industry standards. The role requires sound judgement, curiosity, integrity, and the ability to balance innovation with disciplined risk management.
