Cybersecurity Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant to help organisations identify, assess, and reduce information security risks across their technology environments. In this role, you will work with stakeholders to understand business requirements, evaluate current security controls, and develop practical recommendations that support resilience, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management. You will contribute to engagements across areas such as security assessments, governance, risk and compliance, vulnerability management, cloud security, incident preparedness, and security architecture.
Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering cybersecurity reviews, conducting risk and control assessments, analysing technical and procedural weaknesses, and documenting clear findings for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will develop remediation roadmaps, support policy and standard creation, and advise on the implementation of appropriate security controls. The role may also involve assisting with audit and compliance activities, reviewing third-party security risks, supporting incident response exercises, and monitoring changes in the threat landscape. You will be expected to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate project documentation, and build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams.
To be successful, you should have professional experience in cybersecurity consulting, information security, IT risk, or a related discipline, together with a strong understanding of security frameworks and industry good practice. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or relevant data protection requirements is desirable. Experience with cloud platforms, identity and access management, vulnerability assessment, security monitoring, or penetration testing will be advantageous. Strong analytical, communication, report-writing, and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex risks in clear business terms. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or equivalent qualifications are welcomed. A proactive, ethical, and collaborative approach, along with a commitment to continuous professional development, is required.
