Cybersecurity Compliance Advisor

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Compliance Advisor to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of information security governance and compliance practices. In this role, you will help ensure that cybersecurity controls, policies and procedures align with applicable legal, regulatory and industry requirements. You will work closely with technology, risk, legal, procurement and business teams to identify compliance needs, assess control effectiveness and promote a consistent approach to managing information security risk.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining cybersecurity policies, standards and control frameworks; coordinating internal and external audits; preparing evidence and tracking remediation activities; and conducting compliance assessments, risk reviews and control gap analyses. You will monitor changes in relevant regulations and industry standards, translate requirements into practical actions, and provide guidance to stakeholders on implementation. The role will also involve supporting third-party security reviews, reviewing risk exceptions, preparing management reports and maintaining accurate compliance documentation. You will contribute to awareness initiatives and help strengthen a culture of security, accountability and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have experience in cybersecurity governance, risk or compliance, with a practical understanding of frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, SOC 2 or equivalent requirements. Relevant experience in audit coordination, policy development, control testing, risk assessment or regulatory compliance is essential. Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are desirable. You should be an analytical and organised professional with strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to explain technical and regulatory matters to non-technical audiences. Experience using governance, risk and compliance tools, managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively across diverse teams will be advantageous.
