Penetration Tester - Vulnerability Researcher
We are seeking a Penetration Tester - Vulnerability Researcher to identify, analyse and help remediate security weaknesses across applications, infrastructure, networks and emerging technologies. You will conduct authorised penetration tests and vulnerability assessments, using both manual techniques and industry-standard tooling to simulate realistic attack scenarios. The role will involve scoping engagements, reviewing technical documentation, developing test plans, exploiting vulnerabilities safely, and assessing the potential business impact of findings. You will also contribute to security research by investigating new attack methods, emerging vulnerabilities, offensive tools and defensive bypass techniques.
You will be responsible for producing clear, evidence-based reports that explain vulnerabilities, exploitation paths, risk ratings and practical remediation advice. You will communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, support retesting activities, and work collaboratively with engineering, infrastructure and security teams to improve overall resilience. Responsibilities may also include developing proof-of-concept exploits, creating scripts and custom testing tools, maintaining internal methodologies, contributing to threat modelling, and presenting research through written briefings or technical workshops.
Applicants should have professional experience in penetration testing, vulnerability research, offensive security or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of web applications, APIs, networks, operating systems, cloud environments and common security controls. Practical knowledge of attack frameworks, scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, C or Go is highly desirable. Familiarity with recognised testing methodologies and standards, including OWASP, PTES, OSSTMM or similar, is expected. Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, CREST or equivalent experience are advantageous. You should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, careful documentation practices, ethical judgement, and the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly. A continuous-learning mindset and a genuine interest in researching new vulnerabilities are essential.
