SecOps Engineer
We are seeking a SecOps Engineer to help protect critical systems, applications and data across a dynamic technology environment. You will work at the intersection of security operations, infrastructure and engineering, helping to detect, investigate and respond to threats while improving the organisation’s overall security posture. This role is suited to someone who combines strong technical capability with a practical, risk-based approach to security.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and analysing security alerts, investigating suspicious activity, coordinating incident response and supporting the containment and remediation of security events. You will develop and improve detection rules, playbooks and operational procedures, and contribute to vulnerability management, threat hunting and security control assessments. The role will also involve reviewing logs and telemetry from cloud platforms, endpoints, networks and identity systems, as well as working with engineering teams to embed security into the design, deployment and maintenance of services. You will help maintain accurate documentation, participate in security reviews and provide clear reporting on incidents, risks and improvement activities.
Applicants should have professional experience in security operations, incident response, infrastructure security or a closely related discipline. You will need practical knowledge of SIEM, EDR or equivalent monitoring technologies, along with an understanding of common attack techniques, authentication, networking, operating systems and cloud security. Experience with scripting or automation using tools such as Python, PowerShell or Bash is desirable, as is familiarity with vulnerability scanners, ticketing workflows and security frameworks such as NIST or MITRE ATT&CK. Relevant industry certifications are beneficial but not essential. Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills are required, together with the ability to prioritise effectively, remain calm during incidents and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A commitment to continuous learning and improving security processes will be highly valued.
