We are seeking an experienced Cyber Governance Consultant to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of cyber security governance frameworks. In this role, you will help ensure that security policies, standards and controls are aligned with business objectives, regulatory obligations and recognised industry practices. You will work with stakeholders across technology, risk, compliance and operations to strengthen cyber resilience and promote a consistent, risk-based approach to information security.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing and maintaining cyber security policies, procedures and control frameworks; coordinating governance reporting, risk assessments and compliance activities; and supporting the monitoring and remediation of control gaps. You will contribute to security assurance reviews, audit preparation and responses, third-party risk assessments, exception management and the tracking of improvement plans. The role will also involve preparing clear reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders, facilitating governance forums, and helping translate technical risks into practical business actions. You may also support the development of security awareness materials and guidance to encourage good cyber security practices across the organisation.

To be successful, you will have experience in cyber security governance, risk management, compliance, assurance or a related discipline. You should be familiar with recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT or similar, as well as relevant privacy and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Professional qualifications in information security, risk or audit, such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27001 or equivalent, would be advantageous. This opportunity suits a proactive professional who can challenge constructively, build trusted relationships and deliver practical improvements in a complex environment.
