Cyber Security Offensive Specialist
We are seeking a Cyber Security Offensive Specialist to strengthen an established security function and help identify, validate, and reduce cyber risk across applications, infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and corporate systems. You will plan and conduct authorised penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, red team exercises, and adversary simulations, using a broad range of manual techniques and industry-standard tooling. Your work will help uncover weaknesses before they can be exploited and provide clear, practical recommendations for remediation.
Key responsibilities include scoping and executing offensive security engagements, developing attack paths and test plans, analysing findings, and producing accurate technical and management-level reports. You will collaborate with security operations, engineering, infrastructure, software development, and risk teams to communicate the impact of vulnerabilities and support effective remediation. You may also be involved in threat modelling, security reviews, purple team activities, exploit validation, detection testing, and the development of scripts or bespoke tools to improve assessment capabilities. Maintaining detailed evidence, following rules of engagement, and ensuring all testing is performed safely and ethically will be essential.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, red teaming, or a closely related offensive security role, together with a strong understanding of common attack techniques, vulnerability management, and security principles. Practical knowledge of web applications, APIs, Active Directory, networking, operating systems, cloud platforms, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is highly desirable. Relevant certifications, including OSCP, OSEP, CRTO, CREST, or equivalent experience, would be advantageous. You should be curious, methodical, and comfortable explaining complex technical issues to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. A commitment to continuous learning, responsible disclosure, confidentiality, and professional integrity is required.
