Information Security Governance Specialist
We are seeking an Information Security Governance Specialist to strengthen the organisation’s security governance framework and support the effective management of information security risks. In this role, you will help ensure that policies, standards, controls and processes remain aligned with business objectives, regulatory expectations and recognised security frameworks. You will work with stakeholders across technology, risk, compliance and operational teams to promote consistent security practices and support a strong culture of accountability.
Your responsibilities will include developing, maintaining and reviewing information security policies, procedures and control frameworks; coordinating risk assessments, control testing and remediation activities; and monitoring compliance with internal requirements and relevant legislation. You will support internal and external audits by preparing evidence, tracking findings and coordinating responses. The role will also involve maintaining governance registers, producing clear management reports, monitoring key risk indicators and escalating material issues where appropriate. You will contribute to security awareness initiatives, assist with third-party risk assessments and help embed security requirements into projects, change programmes and business processes.
The successful candidate will have experience in information security governance, risk management, compliance or a closely related discipline, along with a practical understanding of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or COBIT. Familiarity with data protection requirements, audit methodologies, risk assessment techniques and security control environments is highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting complex information, challenging constructively and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Relevant qualifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous. This is an opportunity to play a key role in improving security maturity, strengthening assurance and enabling informed risk-based decision-making across the organisation.
