Information Security Analyst - SecOps Detection
We are seeking an Information Security Analyst – SecOps Detection to support the monitoring, investigation and continual improvement of security operations. You will help protect critical systems, applications and data by identifying suspicious activity, assessing potential threats and coordinating appropriate responses. This role is suited to an analytical and proactive security professional who enjoys working with security technologies, investigating incidents and improving detection capability in a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities will include monitoring security alerts and events across SIEM, endpoint, network, cloud and identity platforms; triaging and investigating suspected incidents; gathering and analysing logs, indicators of compromise and other relevant evidence; and escalating confirmed or complex events in line with established procedures. You will assist with incident response activities, document findings clearly, contribute to post-incident reviews and support the development of accurate, actionable reports. The role will also involve creating, tuning and maintaining detection rules, use cases and alert logic, reducing false positives and identifying opportunities to improve monitoring coverage. You may contribute to threat hunting, vulnerability investigations, security automation and the maintenance of operational procedures and knowledge articles.
Applicants should have experience in a security operations, incident response, threat detection or similar information security role, with a sound understanding of common attack techniques, security principles and incident management processes. Practical experience with SIEM and security monitoring tools is essential, alongside the ability to interpret logs and correlate events across multiple sources. Familiarity with endpoint detection and response, identity and access technologies, cloud environments, network security controls, scripting or automation would be advantageous. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience are welcome. You should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced operational environment. Participation in an on-call or out-of-hours rota may be required.
