We are seeking an experienced Group Data Protection Officer to lead and coordinate data protection and privacy activities across a complex, multi-entity environment. This role will provide independent advice to senior leadership and business teams, ensuring that personal data is handled lawfully, fairly, transparently and securely across all relevant jurisdictions. You will act as a trusted subject-matter expert, helping to embed a strong privacy culture while supporting commercial objectives and responsible data use.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining and continuously improving the global data protection framework, policies, standards and procedures. You will monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact and translate requirements into practical guidance for the business. You will oversee data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, legitimate interest assessments, privacy notices, data retention arrangements and third-party due diligence. You will also advise on international data transfers, technology projects, product development, marketing initiatives and contractual matters. The role will involve managing data subject rights requests, supporting the investigation and reporting of personal data breaches, and coordinating responses to regulators when required.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a senior privacy, data protection or compliance role, ideally within an international or highly regulated organisation. A strong working knowledge of applicable data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, is essential, together with the ability to interpret complex legal requirements and communicate them clearly to non-specialists. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CIPP, CIPM, or an equivalent privacy certification, are desirable. You will be confident influencing stakeholders at all levels, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively across legal, information security, technology, HR and commercial functions. Excellent judgement, integrity, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
