Software Engineer - IAM (Identity and Access Management)
We are seeking a Software Engineer specialising in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to design, develop and maintain secure solutions that enable the right people and systems to access the right resources at the right time. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support. The role will involve building and integrating IAM services, improving authentication and authorisation capabilities, and contributing to a secure, scalable and reliable identity platform.
Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining applications and services for user lifecycle management, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, role-based access control and privileged access management. You will integrate IAM solutions with cloud platforms, enterprise applications, directories and APIs, while automating provisioning, deprovisioning and access review processes. You will investigate and resolve technical issues, monitor system performance, contribute to incident response, and ensure that solutions meet security, privacy and regulatory requirements. You will also produce clear technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with security, infrastructure, product and engineering teams to deliver effective improvements.
Applicants should have professional experience in software engineering, ideally within IAM, cybersecurity or a related discipline. Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript or TypeScript are required, along with experience developing and consuming REST APIs, working with databases, version control and automated testing. Practical knowledge of identity protocols and standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP and SCIM, is highly desirable. Experience with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and containerised applications would be advantageous. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a security-focused mindset, and the communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly. Relevant professional certifications or a degree in computer science, information security or a similar subject are welcome but not essential.
