Senior SOC Analyst – Manchester
Are you an experienced Security Operations Centre (SOC) professional looking to take the next step in your career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior SOC Analyst based in Manchester. In this pivotal role, you will act as a key escalation point for complex security incidents, performing advanced analysis of security alerts and leading incident response activities. You will work alongside a team of dedicated analysts, ensuring timely identification, investigation, and resolution of security threats across diverse environments.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and triaging security events using SIEM and other security tools, conducting root cause analysis, and providing detailed incident reports. You will support the continuous improvement of detection and response processes, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to the development of playbooks and procedures. Collaboration with other IT and security teams is essential, as is staying up to date with the latest threat intelligence and adversary tactics. You will also participate in threat hunting exercises and assist with vulnerability management initiatives as required.
To succeed in this role, you should have substantial hands-on experience in a SOC environment, with a strong understanding of security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and firewalls. Familiarity with incident management frameworks, malware analysis, and forensic investigation is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are key. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, or GCIH are highly desirable.
