An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated IT Security Officer (ITSO) to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and data. Your primary focus will be to develop, implement, and maintain robust information security policies, standards, and procedures. You will play a pivotal part in monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and conducting risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities. Collaboration with various departments will be essential to provide expert advice on security best practices and to ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

As an IT Security Officer, you will lead efforts in managing and maintaining security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems. You will oversee regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests, following up on findings to mitigate risks. The position requires you to organise and deliver staff training on information security awareness and contribute to incident response planning and disaster recovery initiatives. You will also be responsible for investigating security breaches, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, in-depth knowledge of security frameworks and standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS), and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
