We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer to design, implement, maintain and improve integrated electronic security solutions across a range of operational environments. The role will involve working with stakeholders, technical teams, contractors and service providers to ensure that security systems remain reliable, compliant and fit for purpose. You will contribute to the full systems lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through to installation, commissioning, support and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities will include configuring and administering access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom, perimeter protection and associated monitoring systems. You will investigate faults, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, review system performance and support the resolution of complex technical incidents. The role will also involve producing and maintaining system documentation, network diagrams, risk assessments, operating procedures and asset records. You may be required to oversee suppliers and installation partners, validate technical deliverables, participate in testing and acceptance activities, and ensure changes are implemented in accordance with agreed governance, security and safety standards.
Applicants should have proven experience in security systems engineering, electronic security or a closely related technical discipline. Practical knowledge of access control, video management, alarm systems, IP networking and system integration is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical specifications and diagnose problems methodically. Experience with enterprise security platforms, database or server environments, and structured change management would be advantageous. Relevant professional qualifications or industry certifications are desirable. You will need strong communication and documentation skills, a customer-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities independently. A commitment to confidentiality, information security, health and safety, and ongoing professional development is expected. The role may require occasional travel, out-of-hours support or participation in an on-call rota.

You will help shape security architecture, establish engineering standards, and guide the delivery of resilient solutions across cloud, infrastructure, applications, networks, and corporate systems. Working closely with engineering, operations, architecture, risk, and compliance teams, you will translate business and technical requirements into practical security outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include defining and maintaining security architecture principles; identifying and addressing complex technical risks; reviewing designs and threat models; and advising delivery teams on secure-by-design practices. You will lead the development of security controls, automation, monitoring, and incident-readiness capabilities, while supporting vulnerability management, identity and access management, detection engineering, and security testing initiatives. You will bring substantial experience in security engineering, architecture, or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of modern cloud environments, operating systems, networks, application security, and identity platforms. Experience with infrastructure as code, security automation, SIEM and detection technologies, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices is highly desirable. You should be confident analysing complex problems, balancing security with usability and delivery needs, and communicating technical concepts clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
