We are seeking an experienced Assistant Security Manager to support the effective delivery of security operations across a busy, high-profile environment. Working alongside the Security Manager, you will help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming setting for staff, visitors, contractors and members of the public. This is a hands-on role requiring sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional when responding to incidents or changing circumstances.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the day-to-day management of the security team, coordinating shift activities and ensuring that all duties are carried out in line with established procedures and legal requirements. You will support the preparation of staff rotas, briefings, handovers and performance reviews, while helping to maintain high standards of conduct, appearance and customer service. You will also monitor access control, CCTV, alarms, patrols, incident reporting, emergency procedures and the management of contractors and visitors. Where required, you will take a lead role in responding to incidents, escalating concerns appropriately and supporting investigations, risk assessments and business continuity arrangements.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a security, facilities, public-facing or operational management environment, ideally within a complex or high-footfall setting. A recognised security qualification or licence, together with experience supervising or developing a team, would be advantageous. You should be confident using incident management and access control systems, capable of producing clear written reports and comfortable working with colleagues at all levels. Excellent organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential, as is flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required. In return, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a professional security function while developing your leadership and operational management experience.
