We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to help protect critical systems, services and data against an evolving range of cyber threats. You will play a key role in designing, implementing and improving security controls across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments, while providing technical leadership to colleagues and supporting the delivery of secure, resilient technology services.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and investigating security events, leading incident response activities, and conducting threat hunting, vulnerability assessments and risk reviews. You will develop and maintain security standards, policies and technical documentation, and work closely with infrastructure, software development, networking and governance teams to ensure security is embedded throughout the technology lifecycle. You will also support the implementation and tuning of security tooling, including SIEM, endpoint detection and response, identity and access management, vulnerability management and network security solutions. The role will involve contributing to security architecture decisions, reviewing designs, and providing practical recommendations to reduce risk. You may also be required to coordinate penetration testing, manage remediation plans and contribute to audit and compliance activities.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a cyber security engineering or similarly senior technical role, with a strong understanding of security principles, threat models and common attack techniques. You should have hands-on experience with security monitoring, incident management, vulnerability remediation and cloud security, alongside knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be proactive, collaborative and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, helping to strengthen security maturity through continuous improvement.
