We are seeking a Senior Security Operations Analyst to strengthen our cyber defence capability and help protect critical systems, applications, and data. In this role, you will monitor and investigate security events, lead incident response activities, and provide expert guidance on identifying, containing, and remediating threats. You will work closely with infrastructure, engineering, risk, and compliance teams to improve security operations and reduce organisational exposure.

Your responsibilities will include analysing alerts from security information and event management (SIEM), endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity, network, and cloud security platforms; triaging and investigating suspected incidents; coordinating containment and recovery actions; and documenting findings, root causes, and lessons learned. You will develop and refine detection rules, investigation playbooks, and response procedures, while proactively hunting for indicators of compromise and emerging attack techniques. The role will also involve supporting vulnerability management, threat intelligence reviews, security reporting, audit requests, and the continuous improvement of monitoring and response processes. You may be required to mentor junior analysts and contribute to an on-call or out-of-hours incident response rota.

Applicants should have substantial experience in a security operations, incident response, or threat detection role, with a strong understanding of cyber security principles, attack methodologies, and defensive controls. Practical experience with SIEM, EDR, network monitoring, vulnerability management, and cloud security technologies is essential, along with the ability to analyse logs and other technical evidence using investigative and scripting techniques. Knowledge of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or ISO 27001 is desirable. Relevant professional certifications in security operations, incident handling, cloud security, or equivalent experience would be advantageous. You should be an analytical and confident communicator who can make sound decisions under pressure, explain technical issues clearly, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
