We are seeking an IT Security Analyst to join a Security Operations Centre (SOC) and help protect critical systems, networks, applications and data from cyber threats. Working as part of a collaborative, security-focused team, you will monitor security events, investigate suspicious activity and support the timely identification, containment and resolution of incidents. This role requires sound technical judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and methodical in a fast-paced operational environment.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and triaging alerts from security information and event management (SIEM), endpoint detection and response, network monitoring and other security tools. You will analyse logs and events, investigate potential indicators of compromise, assess risk and escalate incidents in line with documented procedures. You will contribute to incident response activities, including evidence gathering, threat containment, remediation support and post-incident reviews. The role will also involve maintaining accurate case records, producing operational reports, identifying recurring threats and recommending improvements to detection rules, processes and controls. Participation in shift-based or out-of-hours monitoring may be required.

Applicants should have experience in a SOC, security operations, incident response or a closely related IT security environment. You will have practical knowledge of common cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerability concepts, network protocols, operating systems and security monitoring principles. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint security tools, ticketing systems and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK or NIST would be advantageous. Relevant professional certifications or formal qualifications in cyber security, information technology or a related discipline are desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues, and continually develop your knowledge in response to the evolving threat landscape.
