We are seeking a Principal Security Architect to define and advance the security architecture strategy across a complex, evolving technology environment. This role will provide senior technical leadership, establish secure-by-design principles, and ensure that security considerations are embedded throughout business and technology change. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, product, risk, and compliance teams to develop resilient solutions that protect systems, information, customers, and services.
Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining enterprise security architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps. You will lead security reviews for major programmes and solutions, identify architectural risks, recommend proportionate controls, and guide remediation plans. The role will also involve shaping cloud, application, identity, network, data, and infrastructure security strategies; evaluating emerging technologies; supporting threat modelling and secure development practices; and contributing to incident readiness and business resilience. You will communicate complex security risks and technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing outcomes at senior leadership level.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in security architecture, cyber security engineering, or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of enterprise environments and modern cloud platforms. You should be confident applying recognised security frameworks and principles, with practical knowledge of identity and access management, cryptography, network security, application security, DevSecOps, data protection, and zero-trust approaches. Experience leading architecture governance, managing risk, and delivering security improvements across large-scale transformation programmes is highly desirable. Professional security certifications or equivalent expertise are welcomed. We are looking for an analytical, collaborative, and pragmatic leader who can balance robust security with usability, innovation, and business objectives.
