We are seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure & Security to design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments. This role will suit an experienced engineer who enjoys automating infrastructure, improving operational resilience and embedding security throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

You will develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, primarily with tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. You will create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment processes and support reliable application releases across development, testing and production environments. You will also help establish standards for configuration management, monitoring, logging, backup and disaster recovery.

Security will be central to the role. You will implement and maintain identity and access management controls, network security, encryption, secrets management and vulnerability remediation. Working with engineering and security colleagues, you will support threat detection, security assessments, compliance requirements and the continual improvement of cloud security policies and practices.

The position will involve monitoring system performance and availability, investigating incidents and contributing to root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews. You will help improve observability through effective use of metrics, logs and alerts, while identifying opportunities to reduce operational effort, strengthen reliability and optimise cloud costs.

Applicants should have strong practical experience of AWS services and cloud infrastructure, together with a solid understanding of Linux, networking, containers and security principles. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Python or Bash, and automated testing would be advantageous. You should be comfortable working with version control, peer reviews and agile delivery methods.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will work across technical teams and explain complex topics clearly. Relevant AWS certifications, DevOps experience and knowledge of industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 or the AWS Well-Architected Framework would be beneficial.
