We are seeking a Cyber Systems Security Engineering Associate Manager to support the design, development, integration and assurance of secure systems across complex technical programmes. This role will provide technical leadership to security engineering teams, ensuring that cyber risks are identified, assessed and managed throughout the system lifecycle. You will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, architects, programme managers and operational stakeholders to embed effective security controls from concept through deployment and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities include leading security engineering activities; developing and reviewing system security architectures, requirements and technical specifications; conducting threat, vulnerability and risk assessments; and supporting secure design reviews, verification and validation activities. You will help develop security cases, compliance evidence and risk treatment plans, while monitoring the implementation of security controls against relevant policies, standards and regulatory requirements. The role will also involve mentoring engineers, allocating technical work, managing priorities, contributing to continuous improvement, and communicating complex security matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber security, systems security engineering or a closely related discipline, together with experience leading technical teams or work packages. A degree or equivalent professional experience in cyber security, computer science, systems engineering or a related subject is desirable. You should be familiar with secure systems development lifecycles, security architecture principles, threat modelling, vulnerability management and risk assessment methodologies. Knowledge of recognised security standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443 or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance.
