We are seeking a Technical Security Engineer to help protect critical systems, applications, networks and data across a complex technology environment. In this role, you will design, implement and maintain effective security controls while supporting the identification, investigation and remediation of security risks. You will work closely with infrastructure, software development, cloud, operations and compliance teams to embed security throughout the technology lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and responding to security events, conducting vulnerability assessments, supporting penetration testing activities and improving detection and response capabilities. You will configure and maintain security technologies such as SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, identity and access management platforms, vulnerability scanners and cloud security services. You will investigate incidents, analyse logs and alerts, document findings, coordinate remediation activity and contribute to post-incident reviews. You will also help develop technical standards, security procedures, risk assessments and clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have professional experience in a security engineering, infrastructure security, network security or incident response role, together with a strong understanding of security principles, threat modelling and common attack techniques. Experience with cloud environments, automation or scripting using tools such as Python or PowerShell, and security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls would be advantageous. You should be comfortable working with Linux and Windows systems, networking concepts, identity services and modern development practices. Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, GIAC, CCSP or equivalent experience are desirable. We are looking for someone analytical, collaborative and proactive, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
