We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Protection Manager for a 6-9 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding the integrity of our organization’s data. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of data protection policies and procedures, ensuring that our practices align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant legislation. You will act as the first point of contact for data subjects and regulatory authorities, addressing inquiries and managing any data breaches effectively.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data protection laws and best practices, along with demonstrable experience in a similar role. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and audits, maintaining accurate records of processing activities, and providing training and guidance to staff on data protection matters. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate with various teams across the organization to foster a culture of data protection awareness. A degree in law, data management, or a related field, coupled with certifications such as CIPP/E or CIPM, will be highly advantageous.
